Hello fellow Stanleyites:

I did put up a short length review of the
Richard's Final Cut. I couldn't get too wordy
because of the limitations of format and length
in Blogs. I actually don't know what's
allowable for hot linking, but I put one
in for SUBVERSIVE. A really great outfit.
I am thinking of transfering to a Domain,
which would allow more flexibility and
volume. If you see any errors, let me
know. I'm happy to make corrections.

Few initial comments.

- Night walker is nagtloper, with a 't'
- If memory serves me right, Robert Burke wasn't forced to Stanley, at least not as much as Chelsea Field was
- I'm not sure whether the 2006 restoration was funded by Stanley, I imagine Subversive Cinema stepped in to contribute, as it was their release. Stanley did fund the postproduction and transfer of his workprint back in the 90's (as the film back then existed only as an 87-min Miramax cut)

Thanks for that.
I've made corrections and improvements.
Writing Blog copy is, for me, like typing onto a
roll of toiletpaper. I now write on Word, cut and
paste, and correct. But I'm not happy with the form.

My reference to Richard paying for the DD Final
Cut production costs came, I believe, from
something I Googled a few weeks back.
I'll locate the piece and if I'm wrong, certainly
correct myself.

I wish I could compete in your new contest
for 5 Disc set, but I have no idea who that
funny face is. I haven't even seen that film yet.

Well, you could say Richard paid for The Final Cut, as the 105-minute print is The Final Cut - which he did pay for back in '93. But I take it he didn't have to financially support the hi-def transfer by Subversive Cinema.
