eBay link

UP FOR AUCTION IS THIS AMAZING ONE OFF ROBOT HEAD FROM THE FILM HARDWARE. I BOUGHT THIS FROM THE PROP STORE OF LONDON ABOUT HALF A YEAR AGO. THE STORY IS THEY AQUIRED THIS FROM A STUDIO THAT WORKED ON THE FILM. THIS WAS MADE BY THE SAME GUYS WHO MADE THE ORIGINAL USED IN THE FILM. MAKING THIS A PRE-PRODUCTION MODEL. SO ON THE CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY THEY HAVE WRITTEN THIS IS TO CERTIFY THAT THE ITEM REPLICA ROBOT HEAD IS A REPLICA ITEM INSPIRED BY HARDWARE, THUS MAKING THIS A ONE OFF. THERE IS NO OTHER LIKE THIS IN THE WORLD.

Somebody buy this!

The price is not as high as I thought - but by now I'm not in the position of buyin' it unfortunately.

I always dreamed of an action figure of the Mark 13 - hey, McFarlane, do you hear me?!

Holy smackrel!!!! :bugeyed:

That needs to be mine, in so many serious ways. =P~

Damnit, it's got more than 7 days left, and some fools have already got it jacked up stupid expensive. Why do so many people not grasp basic auction concepts? Like holding your bids 'till the end of the auction, to keep from artifically inflating the price up? Sigh ...

Excuse me, I've got to go make a bunch of money, like right now. I've got 7 days to amass a LOT. :nudge:

Three days to go and you're losing it.

Bummer. I guess you have to steal from the collection box.

:dismay: ohh, man ... it's got almost 2 days left, and it's at $1242 US. OUCH. At this point, I could do it, but could never rationalize spending that much cold hard cash on a robot head. That doesn't move. Heh. And you know it's going to go up more, before it's all said and done. and it would likely be $200-$300 more, at least, for shipping from the UK.

Yeah, as much as I'd like to -- that price tag has shot way up into the rarified air ... a little too thin up there for me ... :crying:

(but who knows .. maybe I can invent some excuse by tomorrow on why it would be a good reason to spend all that money ... :-k )

One day, still steady.

You know you're going to feel sorry for a very long time if you let it slip by your fingers...

I see the auction has gone over 1200 bucks....for a head. I'm a big fan of the movie, but I think this is too much: I mean, what could you do with it after you get it? You'll place it on a shelf and game over - the auctioner will surely be happy, but 1200 dollars can be spent in a better way...

Somehow, I bet that anyone interested could find a propmaker and have this thing made for about half the cost of the Ebay head. Such is the power of the Internet!

I agree - a fiberglass one made up from the mould of a sculpture.

I should ask to some friends of mine at the Art School....

Granted, but it was close to one. When the price was low, I figured it would've made a nice novelty item. Plus, I have to tease phoebus with something!

Hmmm...not really: the one you linked (which is no new to your site) is more "arranged" than scuplted. They guy presumably picked up pieces of already existing stuff and created something that resembles the head of the droid.

So... did anyone here manage to buy this (It was well out of my price range)

I actually saw the Hardware robot many years ago at a SCI-FI prop display in Blackpool (Britain) it was encased in a big rusty metal cage. I remember it quite vividly as I was quite young (This would have been about 12 years ago) and it scared the sh!t out of me!

There was tons of other props there, I also remember clearly that full sized R2D2 and C3PO were on the front door.

Not that I know of. I'm sure if anyone here DID, they'd have proudly shared pics with everyone here! (Hint, hint.)

Well it looks very close to the original, that good enough for some of us (including me :P )

I really like to know where the originall skull resides, I would love to own it, but I think it's a real cult movie collectors item by now and rather expensive. Anybody knows what happened to the originall skull?
