Watch Rio 2 Online Being a film aimed at an audience of teenagers , it follows that the violence is very watered down and often out of range, in order to avoid bans that go (to America) than PG-13 . And ' natural that a state called Panem is prodigal of " circuses" , in order to assert its political supremacy and take sedate the toiling masses , pushed into extreme poverty in 12 districts .
The District of miners from which Katniss Everdeen , the tube rider skilled in archery , it seems immersed in the years of the Great Depression. Sets, types of faces and clothing evoke intelligence with America by John Steinbeck immortalized beautifully in the " Fury " by John Ford, or vintage photographs of Walker Evans.
In contrast, the opulent Capitol City is the apotheosis of the decadent opulence of the ruling classes .
The most immediate visual reference architectures parafasciste is this time of the '30s, and "Brazil" (1985) by Terry Gillian for the eccentricity of the costumes and hairstyles.
Intermediate space between these two irreconcilable realities , even chromatically opposite , it is the arena in which you address the " Tributes " .
A natural space , albeit manipulated at will by Seneca , architect of the Games , which recalls the myth of an American "wilderness ." Of wild and untouched nature , that can be a source of danger but also to return to innocence primitive , far from the constraints of social norms. In this sense, the character of Katniss Everdeen , heroine armed ( not surprisingly ) a bow and arrow , resurrecting a foundational archetype of American culture , the myth of the frontier.

This cultural matrix exists , however, a priori , by implication, no one feels the need to evoke in a conscious way . " Hunger Games" leaves little room for satire , merely parallels , even obvious , with the contemporary world . It is content to see the state of things for the benefit of generations grew up with the reality of "American Idol," who aspire to the proverbial 15 minutes of fame . The mentor Haymitch ( Woody Harrelson a gigionesco ) recommends Katniss and Peeta Mellark in the second " tribute " of District 12 , to win the sympathies of the audience and the sponsors, maybe simulating a love story that will touch audiences.
The stylist Cinna ( Lenny Kravitz a charismatic ) studies for the couple a look that can impress the audience , the presenter Caesar Flickerman ( a histrionic Stanley Tucci ) simulates encouragement, enthusiasm and concern for the fate of the contestants, while President Snow ( a Luciferian Donald Sutherland ) maneuver events behind the scenes, making sure that the wretched of the earth remain as such . Director Gary Ross is not excellent personality , which so far had only signed the didactic and " pretty " , " Pleasantville " (1998) and yet another version of " Seabiscuit ," which no one noticed the lack .
In this case smoothes few corners in the novel , without ever being able to communicate a sense of real danger to the fate of Katniss .

Despite this , guess some finesse ( Primrose that adjusts the dress ) and at least one sequence failed , the one that marks the beginning of the Games. When the competitors must take possession of the weapons kept in Cornucopia, Ross solves everything with hand-held camera , strictures of field assembly and fragmented , making us perceive the violence without representing explicitly .
A moment of great impact , but it will not be repeated . Jennifer Lawrence, who had seemed quite a revelation in "Winter's Bone" by Debra Granik , continues to target the squirrels but appears bewildered and dull , despite the constant courting of the camera .

North America , is now the state of Panem , which arose as a result of a rebellion which saw the winning Capital City , now surrounded by 12 districts under its control .
Every year , each of those districts must select at random a young woman and a young man , to send as a tribute to Hunger Games , bloody stage show where you compete to the death of the 24 boys.
Fear and submission, here are the results from Capital City through the games .
At the time of yet another selection in District 12 , is drawn by lot the little Prime Everdeen , quickly replaced by her older sister Katniss , Peeta join you . Along reach the scenic Capital City , putting their lives at stake for the messy spectacle of the powerful.

The post-apocalyptic version of the same name by writer Suzanne Collins Meets the Big Screen Gary Ross , a combination with decidedly mixed.
Technically and aesthetically , it is a true masterpiece: the tension and fatigue life of the district is made from beautifully hand-held machines to Ross, while the second part gives the grandeur of the sci- fi action , thanks to the ever valid photography Tom Stern ( among his works is enough to mention " Mystic River " and " Million Dollar Baby ").
The action gives way to writing, from which the great reduction of the pages of Collins, and we outline the excellent results actorial : delicate and smoky interpretation of the newly twenty- Jennifer Lawrence , surrounded by a cast of excellent character , including which is deserving of mention for the everlasting Donald Sutherland.

Even going to the younger audience is that right choice , where the market had trimmed only "Twilight & co. " . What is lacking , and this lack is to disturb the draft Ross, is a homogeneous background that could give the Hunger Games one spirit .
Where the pages of the novel could draw the entire palette of colors narrative , the reduction of Ross, embarked for most of the shot the way of writing and drama , suddenly abandons it in favor of an action which ends up giving little breath .
