Details are scarce, but Stanley has been editing his new short film BLACK TULIPS since November 2004. It's said to run about 15 minutes and have a werewolf in it. It's basically Stanley doing his thing and showcasing his craft, as the film is planned to be screened in various film festivals in order to spark interest of potential investors for his feature film projects.

Further information will be given when available.

The cast/crew listing, those verified so far.

That's a good news!

But how we can see all the shorts this great man did and does?

I mean, you can't find them anywhere!

Did Stanley mentioned it in the interview?

He didn't, and I doubt you'll hear a peep in the net or any other media for that until Stanley decides to screen it.

Let's just say being a webmaster has it's own executive perks.

What the hell does it means that this movie doesn't have special effects for the shapeshifting of the werewolf????

It means,

- there's likely to be a transformation
- there won't be special FX involved

So how do you do a (presumed) onscreen transformation with no FX? By using a real werewolf, of course!

But seriously, I remember hearing about this stage adaptation of R.L. Stevenson's Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, where the entire transformation was done on stage, with no trickery involved aside from ambitious lighting. IIRC, certain lights and colors emphasized different levels in the actor's makeup, and by smoothly tweaking the lights, one could have Jekyll's face morph into Hyde right in front of you.

No smoke and mirrors, just lights.

Does this count as a no-FX transformation?

In what is sadly this movie's big "money" scene, CheryLou transforms into a werewolf. Just as a warning, if you watch this movie, do not eat or drink anything during this scene, because it's surely going to come flying out of your nose once you see the piss-poor job they've done on the transformation effect here. Seriously, it's accomplished using some of the cheapest, most distorted, pixilated, low-resolution computer morphing I have ever witnessed, ever, as the image of CheryLou is morphed into a bogus werewolf head. I swear, parts of the walls and drapes actually morph into the werewolf.

I would very much love to see this film. Special effects didn't exist in the days of old werewolf films, would love to know what method Richard has used.

Any updates on when and where this one might appear?

Well, actually they did. The actor would stay still (generally belted to a chair) while the make-up artists continued to apply make-up on him and the camera-man was shooting little bursts. Then, in the editing, they would put all these little takes together with dissolves between them; this would give a pretty rough effect of a transformation.

Special effects always existed, starting with Melies.

Well, ok, technically stop motion is a special effect, but obviously I'm referring to modern computer morphing etc.
