The long-lost British movie, That Deadwood Feeling, in which Richard Stanley plays a significant and interesting part as a demented actor, has been languishing in oblivion since it was originally made in 2001, due to the fact that the camera negative disappeared in mysterious circumstances.

After many travails, the movie has now finally been restored to life and is released this week (04/05/09) on DVD in the UK. It is available through all the usual outlets including Amazon, etc. There is a new trailer for the film just posted if you follow this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8dF-hGvsmo&fmt=18

The DVD extras include a special interview with Richard Stanley which is well worth a watch.

looks enjoyable. Jack Davenport's always good value too.

I take it Richard Stanley's "the body"?

Yes, Richard is the "body" - but for once his role is quite a lot more than just a Dog Boy or Fish Person. What's interesting about his character is that is was written (and he also rewrote it!) to reflect his own career trajectory. On top of that the movie inhabits that realm where the bizarre, the unexplained and the blatantly supernatural permeate what we think of as "reality" - very much a Richard Stanley theme ...
