Looking forward to it very much!!
A film with names like Nacho Cerdà, Richard Stanley, Karim Hussain and David Kristian must be something good!!!

The main composer is Alfons Conde.

David Kristian's music will probably be featured to a degree, though.

I got a chance to see THE ABANDONED in the theater yesterday as part of Horrorfest and I couldn't have been more grateful. Seeing it on the big screen was great as the sound design worked wonders and the cinematography is gorgeous. I was surprised that the theater was nearly full and the film seemed to have a great effect on the audience (or at least the girl behind me who kept saying, "Oh my God, oh my God" over and over when the doppelgangers appeared).

RE: the picture above, when did Nacho Cerda turn into Frank Darabont? :D

Well, I finally saw THE ABANDONED in suitable midnight screening. The film drew heavily from the Italian horror film tradition, often reminding of Lucio Fulci's THE BEYOND, and particularly Mariano Baino's mid-90's effort, DARK WATERS. To me, the pacing was a bit weird. There were these spots where characters simply shuffled from one place to another, with not much happening and the initial scares were nothing special to write home about either. To me, the film comes to life around the mid-point, when the mystery of the house truly begins to unfold and we can start having a proper horror story.

In the end, THE ABANDONED is very Italian in shape, and very Russian/Nordic in spirit. I personally felt the story manages to capture that certain mindset of the northern hemisphere woods, as my own childhood was spent in a deceivingly similar enviroment. As the end result is so uncompromising in both ways, the viewing experience certainly depends on how open one is to receive these two worlds in one package. They're far apart, yet so close...
