A rough synopsis for Bones of the Earth, as presented by Richard Stanley in Espoo Cine:

The story is about an Al-Qaeda-connected Afghan/Medievalist character with brain damage, who's living rough in the Scottish Highlands. Every year he participates in the Highland Cull, in which rich people get to shoot deers and have their heads as souvenirs. The leading man is waiting for an American general to participate in the cull this year, and they proceed to meet various hunt saboteurs, freaks and people living the highlands during the hunt.

Now that Guy Pearce has been attached to the lead, Stanley said they're in the process of casting another important role, which I presumed to be the general. After that, he said, there's a good chance for Bones of the Earth to happen.

Eye of the Sun, the planned follow-up / sidequel documentary for Voice of the Moon is been put on hold due to the current conditions in Afghanistan. It may still happen one day, but Stanley seems to have enough projects on his plate to keep him preoccupied.

BONES OF THE EARTH now has an IMDb listing, with release set for 2008 and Chris Chrisafis mentioned as a producer. Note that IMDb's information on upcoming projects is often tentative, and might be subject to change.

There's a plot summary as well. I love it how some of the wording matches verbatim to my previous post in this thread (only 2 years old!).

"A former U.S. special forces soldier (with brain damage), framed for the mass destruction of a village in Afghanistan, returns to his homeland in Scotland. Here he plots revenge on his former commanding officer, who is participating in the Highland Cull, in which rich people get to shoot deers and have their heads as souvenirs. Things fall apart when the leading man gets blamed for another incident and finds himself being hunted by a group of deer hunters."

Stanley's CV still mentions only Grosvenor Park in joint of BONES. GP is more of a financial solutions provider than a production company, so it could be...

In the DUST DEVIL DVD commentaries, Stanley revealed ten minutes of footage have currently been shot for EYE OF THE SUN. The project appears to be a stalemate at the moment.
