Well, here it is. A certain somebody (sic???!?) has poked and prodded me enough to make the impossible-to-find Dust Devil soundtrack available to you, our elite Stanley Forum-reading brotherhood. I intended to put this out a while back, but haven't had the time to piece together a nice, cool web page for the soundtrack to 'live in'. Still haven't. So here you go. No fancy, cool web page. Just nice, direct links to the MP3 goodness. 320 kbps, every track, direct and clean from the master disc (Elvis dropped mine off, when he came to visit in his U.F.O. a while back). Enjoy!

I have just seen the new Hi Def 16×9 transfer of Dust Devil: The Final Cut and it is simply stunning. Not a mark or scratch anywhere. The film has such an amazing depth of field that the new sparkling colors image quality create an almost a 3-D like impression. Even the colorist at the lab could not believe the transfer.

The DVD set is going to be limited to one pressing only, 10,000 pieces and then it is gone. Period, no more.

The final disc will include the following:

I borrowed the original Varese Sarabande CD off a girl about 6 years ago and got it copied to MiniDisc for some odd reason, and still don't have the technology to turn it into a CD, nor have I ever had a MiniDisc player (don't ask!) so I jsut had it on tape basically.
I was so happy to see that the CD soundtrack was provided with the Dust DEvil: Final Cut package.....but then it arrived and was disappointing, lots of different cues with, to my mind, poorer arrangements/blends, and no 'Desert Rose', 'Thank You Lord' or 'Travel Alone'

I'm downloading your generous upload and shall perhaps burn both versions onto one disc.

I have said for many years that Boswell's composition on this film is one of the finest most atmospheric and beautiful film soundtracks ever (that's why I pounced on that CD when I saw it at a random party!)

I don't know if anyone is interested but I did a quick comparion of the two Dust Devil soundtracks to see what music was the same. This is what I discovered :

Varese Sarabande - 37.4 Minutes long
New Soundtrack - 31.4 Minutes long

The first thing I found is that the new soundtrack contains some new music but is six minutes shorter than the original release.

These are the tracks that are different on the two releases (although there may be music from one track contained in the music of a different track on the other album - I didn't get too anal about checking this out.)
